At RentyJob we respect your privacy. This Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, who we share it with and what rights you have. It applies to the RentyJob website and mobile apps (the "Service").

1. Data we collect

Account data: name, email, phone number and password (always stored hashed/encrypted, never in plain text).
Profile and content: profile photo, resume (CV), job/housing/business listings, photos, messages and applications you post or send.
Location: the city or area you provide and, if you allow it, your approximate location to show nearby results and on the map.
Verification data: the code sent by SMS or the link sent by email to confirm your phone or email.
Technical and usage data: IP address, device type, pages viewed and usage events to operate and improve the Service.

2. How we use your data

Create and manage your account and authenticate you (including sign-in with email, phone or Google).
Display and operate listings, search, maps, messages and other features.
Verify your contact identity (SMS/email) and prevent fraud and abuse.
Improve the Service, measure usage and offer more relevant results and recommendations.
Communicate with you about your account, your activity and important Service notices.

3. Legal basis

We process your data to perform the Service agreement, with your consent (e.g., precise location or notifications), to comply with legal obligations and for our legitimate interest in operating and protecting the platform.

4. Who we share data with

We do not sell your personal data. We share data with providers that help us run the Service, solely for that purpose:

Google — sign-in and maps.
Mapbox — maps on the web.
Twilio — sending SMS verification codes.
Infrastructure and hosting providers (e.g., Fly.io, Vercel, Cloudflare and, in the future, Amazon Web Services) to host the app, database and files.

We may also share data if required by law or to protect rights, safety or prevent fraud. Other users can see the information you post publicly (e.g., your listings and profile name).

5. Cookies and local storage

We use strictly necessary cookies and browser storage to operate the Service: remembering your language and keeping you signed in. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

6. Retention

We keep your data while your account is active and for as long as needed for the purposes described or to comply with the law. If you close your account, we delete or anonymize your personal data except what we must keep for legal obligations or to resolve disputes.

7. Security

We apply reasonable technical and organizational measures: hashed passwords, encryption in transit (HTTPS), rotating session tokens and access control. No system is 100% foolproof, but we work to protect your information.

8. Your rights

You can access, correct or delete your data and close your account from settings or by contacting us. Depending on your jurisdiction (e.g., Texas/US residents or the EEA), you may have additional rights of access, portability, objection or restriction.

9. Minors

The Service is intended for people 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from minors; if you believe a minor has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy. We will post the current version with its date and, if changes are material, we will try to notify you.
